Morrison+Tenenbaum is the trusted advisor and a tenacious advocate for companies and the people who build them. We are a full-service boutique business law firm with specific expertise in commercial litigation and business law, including outside general counsel services for hospitality and innovation driven businesses.
Our services include establishing corporate entities, debt and equity financing, commercial leasing, real estate transactions, wage and hour defense, brand development and trademark matters, design and construction disputes, management, publishing and endorsement agreements, internal investigations, commercial litigation and business divorces.
Morrison+Tenenbaum provides trusted counsel to entrepreneurs, businesses and investors in connection with running, governing and growing successful enterprises. We advise buyers, sellers and joint venture partners in capital raises, mergers, acquisitions and other corporate transactions. Being proficient in both transactional and operational aspects of running a business makes us a valuable partner for companies and those who run them.
We regularly represent real estate holding companies, retailers, and restaurants, as well as creditors, shareholders, and private investors, in procedural, transactional and litigation aspects of bankruptcy cases. Our team has successfully carried countless prepackaged Chapter 11 cases, Section 363 sales, out-of-court restructurings, workouts and buyouts from start to finish. Whether we are counseling buyers or sellers of financially distressed assets, we provide strategic advice on business opportunities, the bankruptcy implications of transactions and financing options in connection with traditional corporate and real estate matters. At Morrison+Tenenbaum we turn challenges into opportunities.
Morrison+Tenenbaum has become one of New York City’s leading boutique firms for the defense of employment-related lawsuits. We are experienced in the preparation and negotiation of employment contracts, non-compete and non-solicitation agreements, executive compensation and incentive equity plans. We also work with clients to implement employment handbooks and policy manuals that are both compliant with applicable laws and provide the necessary mechanisms for addressing practical workplace issues. When employment-related claims do arise, our litigation team is prepared to resolve matters effectively and discretely.
When disputes cannot be resolved out of court, it takes a seasoned team of litigators to implement an effective litigation strategy that considers the relative strengths of the parties and the minutiae of legal process. Morrison | Tenenbaum specializes in representing clients in commercial disputes, with a primary focus on business divorces, business torts, breach of contract matters, unfair competition claims, and employment related matters. Combining a broad understanding of the legal system and a practical approach to resolving disputes, Morrison+Tenenbaum is a trusted advocate for both small matters and complex situations. This approach enables us to translate complex legal issues into executable solutions in or out of court.
The attorneys at Morrison+Tenenbaum regularly handle the sale and leasing of office and retail space in addition to assisting landlords, tenants and real estate management companies in landlord-tenant and ownership disputes. Whether we are evicting a commercial tenant or protecting the lease of a retail tenant in bankruptcy, we offer practical, business-minded solutions, always considering the important role that timing plays in any real estate matter.
While other firms, large and small, claim to be food and beverage experts, they all lack the ‘inside out’ perspective necessary to effectively advise hospitality companies and investors. Our expertise covers every aspect of the hospitality business, from obscure regulatory issues to ‘bet-the-company’ deals and litigation. Morrison + Tenenbaum is equipped to handle almost any type of legal issue facing food and beverage companies.
We regularly work with start-ups, inventors, in-house counsel and executives to provide objective-oriented legal advice to innovation driven companies. Through intimate collaboration with our clients rooted in a keen interest in technology, we deliver solutions tailored to clients’ most complex growth challenges. Our innovation law practice covers a wide range of disciplines including intellectual property, privacy and data protection, internet and e-commerce law in addition to traditional corporate legal services. We provide worldwide trademark clearance services and have the necessary experience to effectively enforce IP rights through a combination of national registrations and contractual oversight. Morrison+Tenenbaum regularly represents companies focused on environmental technology, media, advertising and financial services.
With more than 25 years’ experience, the attorneys at Morrison + Tenenbaum are practical, business-minded and highly effective advocates who work closely with our clients to fully understand what success means for them.
